To my husband Lorenzo, sister-in-laws Brenda, Clarice and brother-in-laws Eddie and Ray,(and all the Barnes grand-children) may God give you all the strength to grieve as long as you need to. I know it won't be easy but just know your Mom was a sweet, kind and beautiful woman from the time I met her in 1977 and that she may be gone but never ever forgotten. Love you all,
Belinda Barnes

I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. I have known your kind Mother all my life. My heart is with the family during this incredibly difficult time.

I have enjoyed delivering Meals-on-Wheels to Ms. Julia for the past couple of years. One of my favorite stops on my delivery route. I will surely miss my short visits with this sweet lady. Until we meet again....... Love, Cornelia

My Condolences to the family

I have fond memories of Mother Julia Barnes. She was my mother, Rev Sadie Hollingsworth Richardson Shearod, best friend. Mother Barnes and her family at the time, included her mother Mrs Mattie Martin, her daughters Gloria and Brenda. They were our next door neighbors on Crawford Extension about 1948. I can remember one day my mother received the Baptism in The Holy Ghost and she went next door to tell Mother Barnes and her mother. As soon as my mother told her, Mother Barnes, she was filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak in tongues. That was an exciting and Holy Ghost time and lots of rejoicing and praising the Lord. I remember her as a very kind, loving and a very strong and dedicated Sain that was on fire for Jesus. She also instilled this love of Gods and Christian values in all children. She shall surely be missed. She has now joined her mother, her husband and daughters, my mother and rest of the saints from Pentecostal Holy Church. I just can’t imagine the reunion they are having being in the presence of Jesus. My sincere condolences and deepest sympathy for the family and friends. May the GOD of all comfort strengthen you during this sad time. Mother Barnes has imparted into my live and I thank God for her. To God belong all the Glory and rest in peace and receive your crown. Sincerely, Charles L. Richardson

I remember Ms. Julie growing up as a little boy! She live next door to my grandmother in Lincoln homes on Carver drive. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was like a second grandmother to me. She will be missed.

I remember Mrs. Barnes when I worked as a Manager at Lincoln Home Housing Development. Mrs. Barnes was a sweet and humble lady and loved the Lord. May your sweet memories give you peace in the days ahead.
