Mt. Olive - Elder Atlas Garner Jr., 79, passed on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC. The family will celebrate his life on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm with the family arriving to receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations, Inc., 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC.
He was born in Lenoir County, NC to Stephen Atlas Garner and Lena Roberson Garner. He is survived by his loving wife, Lucy Branch Garner and his children: John (Mari) Summers, Charles Garner, James (Demetrice) Garner, Janice (Mike) King, Darlene (Michael) Walker, Arleen (Marlon) Gillins, Richard Garner, Angela Williams and Carvis Williams.
