Mt. Olive - Mr. Bennie Almond Brewington, 76 228 Smith Chapel Road, passed on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Genesis Health Care, Mt. Olive, NC. The celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 2:30pm at the J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations, Inc. There will be a visitation held on Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery, Goldsboro, NC at a later date.
He was born on June 9, 1940 in Wayne County, NC to Ben Brewington and Jenny Harris. He is survived by three children: Dwane Anthony Crews (Melya) of Washington DC, Bennie Brewington, III of Raleigh NC and Analisa Denise Lemus (Carlos) of New Orleans, LA; two step-daughters: Julianna S. Henry (James) and Earlean V. Simmons; grandchildren: Elisa Maria Fleming, Antonio Fleming Jr., Antonio Simmons, Sierra P. Jones (Jomo), Curtis A. Bynum,III (Cerrita), Jamie Crews, Tamamira Crews and Cheryl Crews; four great grand children; siblings: Reginald Brewington (deceased), Margaret Wright (Carl), Sonja Barksdale, Carnell Brewington and Myra Brewington; step sister, Deloris Jones; sister-in-law, Brenda Brewington, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews and other devoted relatives and friends.
