I spoke with Bertha in August after returning from our Lincoln Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association celebration in Durham. I was telling her about different ones that attended that asked about her. She sounded real good and remembered some of the names I mentioned to her. So sorry to hear of her passing.

I have very pleasant memories of Ms. Gavin that make me smile. I graduated from Lincoln hospital school of nursing in 1968. As a student, she took not only me but many others under her wing and helped train us to be the RN she would be proud of. I am so grateful to her. She was loving, caring, generous and compassionate. May she rest in peace.

It was a blessing to have you in my life. I'm truly thankful for the love we shared. You are an honorable, righteous woman, with strong values, compassion, and grace.
