Georgia - Mr. Cecil N. McKeithan, 78, completed his earthly walk of life on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Emory Decatur Hospital, Decatur, GA. There will be a Memorial Celebration held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 3:00pm Dillard Read Obituary
Mr. McKeithan was a "Great American". Numerous HBCU's owe him a debt of gratitude for restoring older facilities on HBCU campuses! Thank you, Cecil, for helping Allen University and St. Paul's College, Virginia return to the path of restoration. Rest in Peace! God Bless You, my friend!
So grateful to have had Cecil as a part of my life journey. He was the first teacher to teach Black History enlightening me about our culture and heritage. That information impacted me for a lifetime. I remember in Connecticut at the girls' camp when he cooked oatmeal for us because I had begged him for days. Well, although it was a hit with me it did not go over well with the others. So he kindly told me that he could not cook it again. I understood. Thank you Cecil for your kindness and heart. I always looked forward to seeing Cecil at the Dillard Alumni Awards and Scholarship program on Thursday. Had no idea he was in hospital and unable to attend. Peace and comfort to the family during this time.
