Goldsboro - Mr. Charlie Leroy Atkinson, 77 of 834 N. Center Street Apt. B, passed on Friday evening, January 2, 2015 at the Brain Center Health and Rehab of Goldsboro, NC. The celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 1:00pm in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations with Pastor Douglas Sutton as the eulogist. He will be laid to rest in Old Mill Cemetery, 3718 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a viewing held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 11:00am until 1:00pm in the chapel. He was born on September 15, 1937 in Wayne County to Charlie Leroy and Almira Carraway Atkinson Sr. He is survived by two children, Alphonzo (Tracey) Jacobs of Jacksonville, FL and Phyllis Harris of Goldsboro, NC; his grandchildren: Delavisha Harris-Faison (Preston) of Dudley, NC, Hosea Smith of Goldsboro, NC, Edward (Kemoka) Harris of Greenville, NC,Shetula (Jamie) Easterling of Conway, SC, RaKisha (Demond) Jacobs of Killeen, TX, Alphonzo J. Jacobs of Berry, VT, Lena Jacobs of Temple, TX, Christina (Reymond) of Jacksonville, FL, Juwell Brown of Sumter, SC and Sharifa Brown of Sumter, SC and several great grandchildren. Professional, sympathetic, dignified, compassionate care and service entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations. The family is receiving friends at 910 Sixth Street, Goldsboro, NC, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
