Mrs. Charlotte Marie Allen's Obituary
Clayton - Mrs. Charlotte Marie Allen, 72, of Clayton, NC, passed peacefully at her home May 11, 2025. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Eugene Speed and Lula Pointer, son, Robert Dante Barnes, and sisters, Gwendolyn Franklin and Sharron Daniel. Charlotte was educated in the Bibb County School systems and later attended Southern Jr. College as well as The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She loved to travel, was an avid reader, and enjoyed writing, but above all, she was a dedicated and active part of her church, family, and community.
Charlotte is survived by a loving husband, Robert Barnes, also of Clayton, her son, Terrence Eugene (Jessica) Reed, grandchildren Peyton and Jacob Reed, as well as great-grandchildren, Malachi and Shiloh Reed, all of Wilmington, NC, brothers Carl W. (Hee Jenong Suh) Reed, of Seoul, South Korea, and Darrell Fredrick of Center Point, Alabama, sisters Jessica Rena Dobbs and Patrena McNeal, both of Birmingham, Alabama, brother in laws Samuel Barnes of Knightdale and Ronald Barnes of Houston, Tx, sister in law Olivia Patterson of Goldsboro and a host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews and so many friends who will miss her tremendously. In her words, "Be blessed, safe, and enjoy your day to the fullest, and above everything, Keep God first!"
Funeral services will be held at Barnes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church 1108 Rosewood Rd. Goldsboro, NC on May 24, 2025. Visitation will start at 11am and service to follow at 12pm. The family will host a celebration of life at a later date in Alabama as well.
