Elm Street, silently departed this life on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at her residence. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 1:00pm in the J.B. Rhodes, Jr. Memorial Chapel of J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations with Minister Gloria Pryce officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 US Highway 11, South, Dudley, NC. Coote was born on June 5, 1927 in Wayne County, NC to the late Edmund and Leord Austin Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Stokes, Jr. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory are five daughters: Belinda Stokes of Goldsboro, NC, Joanne Jones Williams of Salemburg, NC, Maria Stokes of Goldsboro, NC, Diana Warfleet of Salemburg, NC, and Eulene Jones of Philadelphia, PA; six sons: Ronald Jones of New Jersey, Billy Ray Stokes of Goldsboro, NC, Donnell Jones of Goldsboro, NC, William Jones of Goldsboro, NC, Johnny Stokes of Goldsboro, NC, and James Stokes of Goldsboro, NC; one sister: GloriaPryce of New York; 25 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
