Goldsboro - Mrs. Delores Y. Whitley, 71, passed on Friday, September 15, 2017 at home. The celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 11:30am at Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 1314 Ben Brewington Court, Goldsboro, NC. She will be laid to rest at the Wayne Memorial Park North, 1191 Old Grantham Road, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a viewing held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations of Goldsboro.
She was born in Wayne County, NC on June 24, 1946 to Thelbert and Mary Emma Smith Harvey. She is survived by her husband, Roland Whitley Sr. of the home and two children: Angela D. (Darryl Sr.) Lewis of Goldsboro, NC and Roland (Dr. Kimberly Munro-Whitley) Whitley Jr. of Cary, NC.
