Goldsboro - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Dollie Peacock Gerald, 79, on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina. The celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 1:00pm with a viewing from 12:00pm to 12:50pm at New Greenleaf Church Of Christ, 301 W. Hooks River Road, Goldsboro, NC. She will be laid to rest at the Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 US Hwy 117 South, Dudley, NC.
She was born on December 21,1945, in Pikeville, NC to Bland C. Peacock and Jessie M. Barnes Peacock. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert Gerald Jr., two daughters, Jowanda T. Hipp (Ernest) from Waldorf, MD, and Tanyetta M. Tarpley (Frederick) from Goldsboro, NC. Additionally, she leaves behind five stepsons: Robert (Bobby) L. Gerald, III from Goldsboro, NC; Kelvin Gerald (Natalia) from New York; Jeffery (Jeff) Gerald from Goldsboro, NC; Anthony (Tony) R. Gerald (Porsha) from Goldsboro, NC; and Carlton (Keith) O. Gerald (Claudia) from Dumfries, VA. Her maternal grandchildren include Ashley M. Jones from Waldorf, MD; Victoria M. Tarpley; Frederick L. Tarpley II; and Ethan M. Tarpley, all from Goldsboro, NC. Honorary granddaughter Marquita Knight (Charles) from Grifton, NC, and four great-grandsons. Five brothers: Earl Peacock, Chester Peacock, Randolph (Randy) Peacock from Goldsboro, NC, Donald Peacock from Maryland, and Bruce Brinson from Seattle, Washington. Three sisters, Shirley Peacock-Wooten from Bryons Road, Maryland, Bernice Peacock-Smith (Dennis) from Stafford, VA, and Cather (Jeanie) J. Peacock- Thompson from Wilmington, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
