Goldsboro - Mrs. Doris Coley, 78 of 818 East End Circle, passed on Friday morning, December 11, 2015 at the Brian Center, Goldsboro, NC. The celebration of her life will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Goldsboro Chapel FWB Church, 1314 Ben Brewington Court, Goldsboro, NC. She will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a visitation held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
She was born on April 20, 1937 in Wayne County, NC to Elbert Uzzell and Essie Hall Uzzell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Essie Uzzell; son, Charles A. Coley, Jr; daughter, Charlene Coley; sisters: Katie Rochester, Mildred Ball, Eleanor Shepard, Gertrude Wright, Dessie Lofton and Suzanne Whitfield; brothers: Elbert Uzzell, Jr., Ray Uzzell and Joseph Uzzell.
She is leaves to cherish her memories to her husband, Charles A. Coley; daughters: Maxine (Michael) Richardson of Bowie, MD, Cynthia (Thomas) Lockley of Ashburn, VA and Michelle (Bobby) Williams of Apex, NC; son, Kenneth Coley of Goldsboro, NC; five grandsons: Marques Richardson and Aaron Richardson of MD, Matthew Lockley of VA, Malik Williams and Jalen Williams of NC; one granddaughter, Naomi Lockley of VA; sisters: Maryanne (Herbert) Green of Clinton, MD, Linda (Larry) Brown of Goldsboro, NC, Debra (Harold) Smith of Upper Marlboro, MD and Carolyn Saunders of Goldsboro, NC; three brothers: Harry Uzzell of Upper Darby, PA, Bobby Uzzell of California and George (Brenda) Uzzell of Goldsboro, NC; three sisters-in-law: Ruth Cooper of Goldsboro, NC, Lila Coley of Salem, NJ and Rosetta Coley of Goldsboro, NC; five brothers-in-law: Maurice (Lillie) Coley of Fayetteville, NC, Elroy (Mary) Coley, Foy (Evelyn) Coley, Coy (Carolyn) Coley all of Goldsboro, NC and Bobby (Linda) Coley of Oxford, OH.
