LaGrange - Mr. Douglas Rowe "Silky Silk", 66 of 1060 LaGrange Road, passed on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Wayne UNC Health Care, Goldsboro, NC. The celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 1:00pm at the Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Association Headquarters, 1800 S. Slocumb Street, Goldsboro, NC. He will be laid to rest at the Old Mill Cemetery, 3718 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a visitation held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Mt. Zion Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1289 Parkstown Road, La Grange, NC.
He was born on June 4, 1950 in Wayne County, NC to Allen Rowe and Lena Mae Lewis Rowe. Douglas Rowe leaves to keep his memory alive, his son - Dory A. Rowe of Charlotte, NC; three brothers: James Allen Rowe (Mae) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Alfred Rowe (Anita) of Fayetteville, NC and Byron Rowe (Melanie) of Orange Park, FL; six sisters: Doris Jean Best and Nina Dawson (Roosevelt) of LaGrange, NC; Brenda Rowe Gelinas (Pierre) of Montreal, Canada, Glenda Rowe and Darlene Parker (Timothy) of Parkstown and Maxine Bartholomew of West Point, NY. He also has one other sister-in-law, Nellie Rowe of Parkstown. His brothers, Linwood Earl Rowe and Anthony Rowe, as well as, his sister, Soundra Parks preceded him in death.
