Ms. Edna Suggs' Obituary
Kinston - Ms. Edna “Big Sis” Suggs, 75, returned to her heavenly home on April 20, 2019, after a brave battle with a long illness at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC. The celebration of life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 27th, 2019 at the Church of Faith and Deliverance, 655 Sussex Street Kinston, NC 28504 with Pastor John Flowers, Officiating. A viewing will be held from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Loftin Memorial-J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home, 106 N. East Street, Kinston, NC.
Edna was born on November 15, 1943 in Lenoir County, NC to George and Mary Rouse Suggs. She is survived by her six children: Carol Jean Suggs of Kinston, NC, Helena Suggs Gray (Donald Lee Gray) of La Grange, NC, Shelia Angela Clark (Hiwathia Rena Clark) of Kernersville, NC, Terence Lofell Suggs of Kent, Washington, Jerome Keith Suggs of Kinston, NC and Christopher Edwards of Kinston, NC; and her 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by 5 siblings: George Suggs Jr. of La Grange, NC; Georgia Mae Waters of Chicago, IL; Remonia Gray of Browntown, NC; Mary Velma Suggs of Newark, NJ; Lily Margaret Vaughn of Lenoir County, NC; Perry Suggs of Browntown, NC; and Shirley Suggs-Kearney (Larry Kearney) of Riverdale, MD.
