Remember Eric fondly as a student at Spring Creek. Prayers for entire family!

I am sending my condolences to the Mathis family. I’m so glad I had a chance to know Eric. He was a special person who will be so sorely missed.

I’m going to miss you cousin and our good talks and laughter. I love you Eric!

Eric was a special guy, we played football at Southern Wayne , every week we’d loose Goldsboro, Jacksonville it didn’t matter the bus ride back he’d make fun singing rapping with his slight studded , and then he’d go into his distinctive laugh , he was very strong for his height and very fast , man we had some good times , Eric “Black Magic” I pray your work on this side was satisfying to the holder of your faith and you’re granted life on the other side , peace king
They say that your cousins are your first friends. On a rare occasion one becomes just like a sibling. My husband had the privilege to have Eric as this cousin/brother. Eric faithfully called/text my husband, Anthony several times a day. Eric also was The Godfather to my daughter, Aundrea. He ensured to send her a card with money every year for her birthday. Her birthday is next week- she will be 17 & for the first time she will not receive her card from Eric. God said it was time for u to rest. I know u are an Angel as u truly loved the Lord. Take ur rest 🙏🏾My condolences family 💐 RIP

Thinking of you with heartfelt sympathy. In this time of sorrow, our thoughts & prayers are with you. Eric was such a wonderful, well-mannered, beautiful-spirited young man. The last time I'd seen & talked with him, all he talked about was how good God is & how he would say...: Aunt Brenda, “CAN I SING YOU MY SONG”? Of course, my answer was “yes”. He will be truly missed.
