Maryland - Mr. Evis E. Murphy, 87, formerly of Sampson County, NC passed on Saturday, September 15, 2018. The celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00am in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC. He will be laid to rest at the Cobb Cemetery, Juniper Road, Faison, NC. There will be a viewing held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 10:00am to 11:00am in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC.
He was born on December 9, 1930 in Sampson County, NC to Jonas Elbert an Mary Eva Matthews Murphy. He is survived by two children: Pastor Janice Williams of Goldsboro, NC and Eddie E. Murphy of Hudson, New York.

The family is receiving friends at the home of his daughter, Pastor Janice Williams, 1212 S. Andrews Ave., Goldsboro, NC, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession at 9:15am.
