Ms. Florice Romona Flowers' Obituary
Hamden, CT - Ms. Florice Ramona (Wynn) Flowers, 93, completed her earthly journey and transitioned peacefully from labor to reward on Sunday July 28, 2024 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford, CT with her loving family by her side. There will be a Graveside Service on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the First Congregational UCC Cemetery, Old Mount Olive, Dudley, NC.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Lee Flowers. Florice was born in Dudley, North Carolina on May 20, 1931, the daughter of the late Israel Henderson and Frances Ann Henderson Wynn. She had resided in New Haven for most of her life, and in Hamden for nine years, including the past four years. Florice was a private duty nurse’s aid for many years, and also worked at the former Winchester Repeating Arms Co. of New Haven.
She is survived by two daughters: Otelia Romona Darden of West Haven and Annette Yvonne Flowers of Goldsboro, NC; twelve grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her son, Lynwood Earl Flowers; her son-in-law, Bernard Darden; two sisters: Geneva Foster and Otelia Newsome; seven brothers: John Frank Wynn, H.B. Wynn, Tino, Douglas, Roosevelt, Lawrence and Eddie Wynn, and her great-granddaughter, Bri Snowden.
