Concord - Mr. Fred "Plum" Tate Jr., 73 formerly of Goldsboro, passed on Monday, September 11, 2017 at home. The celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:30am at St. James AME Zion Church, 206 S. George Street, Goldsboro, NC. He will be laid to rest at the Elmwood Cemetery, Hwy 117 Bypass, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a viewing held on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 2:00pm to 7:00pm with the family receiving friends from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations of Goldsboro.
He was born on January 28, 1944 in Wayne County, NC to Theresa Hodges and Fred Tate Sr. He is survived by children: Fred A. Phillips of Concord, NC, Tanya Peacock (Stefan Stallings) of Maryland and Theresa (Markham) Uzzell of Goldsboro, NC; his siblings: Linda Jones of Charlotte, NC, Hezekiah (Phyllis) Jones Jr. of Goldsboro, NC, John Henry (Benita) Jones of Goldsboro, NC, Theresa Jones of Goldsboro, NC, Wilhelmina (Linwood) Thomas of Goldsboro, NC, Wilbert (Juanita) Jones of Goldsboro, NC, Earl (Evelyn) Jones of Philadelphia, Mary (Albert) Cherry of California and BJ (John) Harper of Virginia; brother-in-law, Wilbert Evans of Dudley, NC; grandchildren: Antwon (Tiffany) Peacock, Clintoria Bryant, Travario Uzzell, Tenashia Uzzell, Jessica Peacock, Fred Phillips Jr., Donisha Peacock and Kalib Myers; 2 great grandchildren: Zion Peacock and Alannah Peaccock, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
