Mr. Freddie Lee Jones' Obituary
Goldsboro - On May 21, 2023 our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, Freddie Lee Jones, lovingly known as Fred, at the age of 97 was quietly called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ while resting at the Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC. Freddie was born April 1, 1926 in Johnston County, North Carolina to the Late Mr. John Boston and Mrs. Arrie Weathersbee Jones. He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy, a farmer, an operating engineer and entrepreneur. Freddie and his wife, Mrs. Singer B. Jones, owned and operated the Soul Bowl Cafe on the corner of Elm and Leslie streets in Goldsboro, NC.
The celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 11:00am at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1065 Tommy’s Road, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a viewing on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and a viewing prior to the service on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 10:00am to 10:45am at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1065 Tommy’s Road, Goldsboro, NC. He will be laid to rest at 2:00pm June 2, 2023 in the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, NC.
