Olive Mr. Frederick “Fred” DuPuy, 74 of 315 Robert F. Hargrove Rd., passed on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the Miami VA Medical Center, Miami, FL. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 10:00 am in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations with Reverend John McPhatter as the eulogist. He will be laid to rest in the Sandhills Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC with military honors. There will be a visitation from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel, Monday, September 2, 2013. He was born in Wayne County, NC to James and Helen Battle DuPuy. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Kornegay DuPuy of the home; daughters: Natalie DuPuy of Durham, NC and Sucette Autry of Atlanta, GA; sons: Ronnie D. DuPuy of Cincinnati, OH, Frederick DuPuy of Orlando, FL and Pierre DuPuy of Long Island, NY; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He also has many other loving relatives and friends. Professional, sympathetic, dignified and compassionate service entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
