Raleigh - Ms. Geraldine Murphy Coley, 74, ascended back to her Heavenly home on Friday morning, August 9, 2024 at WakeMed Cary Hospital, Cary, NC. The celebration of her life will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 1:00pm at 12:00pm to 12:45pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC. She will be laid to rest at the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 3888 US Hwy 70 W, Goldsboro, NC.
She was born to Louise Wright Murphy and Sam Murphy on December 18, 1949, in Wayne County, North Carolina. Cherished memories remain with her children: Sheila Murphy Lucas (Joseph Lucas) of Raleigh, NC and Malcolm Larome Murphy (Elaine Murphy) of Griffon, GA; her siblings: Rev. Alice Murphy Ragland (Jerome Ragland, deceased) of Goldsboro, NC, Betty Murphy Bell (Matthew Bell, deceased) of Dudley, NC, Bobby Ray Murphy (Mattie “Tina” Darden Murphy) of Fremont, NC and Rev. Dr. Shelton Murphy (Doris James Murphy) of Norfolk, VA; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
