Geraldine Smith Jones' Obituary
Fremont - Mrs. Geraldine Smith Jones, 73 of 109 Ballance Rd., passed Monday morning, October 20, 2014 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. The celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11:00am at St. James Church of Christ, 514 Memorial Church Road, Fremont, NC. She will be laid to rest in the Elmwood Cemetery, 303 E. North Street, Fremont, NC. There will be a visitation held on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 3:00pm until 6:30pm with the family arriving at 5:30pm until 6:30pm at First Missionary Baptist Church, 410 S. Goldsboro Street, Fremont, NC. She was born in Wayne County, NC on February 18, 1941 to James and Lula Sherrod Smith. She was preceded in death by her father, James Smith and brother, James Edward Smith. She is survived by her husband, Devone Jones, three children: Barbara Gibson, Ray Jones and Tony Jones, and three grandchildren: Tiffany Gibson, Bryson Gibson and Brittany Jones. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Lula S. Smith; siblings: Willie Smith, Chester Smith, Freddie Smith, Herlene S. Lewis and Bernice S. Reece, Albert Smith and Benjamin Smith. She was the founder of the Norwayne Alumni Association. Professional, sympathetic, dignified, compassionate care and service entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
