It was an honor to work with Geraldine at North Drive School. She truly loved her students and brought so much joy to all of us. It was a blessing to know her and be her friend.

My name is Alicia Wells. I just found out about Geraldine's passing. She called me Redd because I had red hair and I called her Gee. Gee is the only person I ever let call me Redd!!! We worked at North Drive Elementary together many years ago. We joked all the time. She was very special to me. She even came to my wedding where I became Alicia Thompson then but I have my maiden name back now. She was the only African American woman at my wedding and I was thrilled that she came. I still have the wedding picture with her in it. When one of her parents died I sent a flower and signed it Redd and went to the house to show my respects. She was like a second mother to me. I loved her dearly. I lost contact with her when I left North Drive. I had health issues which ended my teaching career. My own MaMa just went to Heaven this past February. Gee will surely be missed! She was an extraordinary woman and I will cherish the time we spent together. Fly high Gee. Redd will always love you forever and always!!!❤️
Geraldine and I worked together for many years at North Drive Elementary
School. She was a dedicated, hard working teacher who loved her students and fought for what was best for them. She was my friend. She was funny and true and always in style. I never understood how she got things done with those long fingernails but they never slowed her down. And
as often happens, once the common bond of what brought us together no longer brings us together, we lost touch. I am sadden by Geraldine's passing. I have so many good memories of her. Rest in peace my friend. See you in Heaven.
