Mt. Olive - Mr. Gilbert Edward Usher, 66 of 908 Oliver Street, passed on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Vidant Duplin Hospital, Kenansville, NC. The celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 2591 Beautancus Rd, Mt Olive, NC with Apostle Preston Grimes officiating. There will be a visitation held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. He was born on June 5, 1947 in New Hanover County, NC to Edward and Helen Boykin Usher. He is survived by his children: Tyhesia Suggs, Antonio Usher and Veronica Pearsall and seven grandchildren; four sisters, Evangelist Vondra (James) McClain, Helen Stevens and
Sylvia Leonard of Mt. Olive and Brenda (James) Cox of Dudley; two brothers, Jerry (Beatrice) Usher of Dudley
and Bobby R. Usher of Houston, TX; aunts, an uncle, cousins, other
relatives and friends. Professional, sympathetic, dignified, compassionate care and service has been entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
