Kenansville - Mr. Gorden A. Humphrey Sr., 93, passed on Friday, April 30, 2021 at home. The celebration of his life will be held graveside on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 12:30pm at Devotional Gardens, 1260 NC Hwy 24 & 50, Warsaw, NC. There will be a chapel visitation from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with the family arriving to receive friends from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations, 195 Kenansville Hwy, Warsaw, NC.
Gorden A. Humphrey Sr. was born November 17, 1927, in Onslow County, North Carolina, to the late Benjamin F. Humphrey Sr. and the late Margaret H. Humphrey. He leaves to cherish precious memories: his lovely and devoted wife, Geraldine McIver Humphrey; to which he had four sons, Michael T. (Leeshon) Humphrey, Clayton, NC; Gorden A. Humphrey Jr., Kenansville, NC; Vincent G. Humphrey, Austin, TX and Anthony G. (Latonya) Humphrey, Cary, NC; Dorothy (Ervin) Gilchrist, Leland, NC; Margaret A. Humphrey, Beaulaville, NC; Jerry G. Humphrey, Wallace, NC; Pamela (John) Stokes, Durham, NC; two brothers, Reverend Benjamin F. Humphrey Jr., Winston Salem, NC; Elbert (Melenda) Humphrey, San Antonio, TX; three sisters, Irene Harrison and Betty Humphrey of Richlands, NC; Darlene (Elijah) Batts, Hampstead, NC; a sister-in-law, Betty Best, Kenansville, NC; 31 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
