Goldsboro - Mr. Handy Applewhite Jr., 54 of 108 E. Hooks River Road, passed on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Wayne UNC Health Care, Goldsboro, NC. The celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 12:00 noon at the Goldsboro-Raleigh Assembly, 211 W. Hooks River Road, Goldsboro, NC. He will be laid to rest at the Coley Family Cemetery, Pikeville, NC. There will be a viewing held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 11:00am to 11:50am at the church.
He was born on October 14, 1965 in Wayne County, NC to Handy and Penina Coley Applewhite Sr. He is survived by his three sons and siblings.
Services of compassionate and distinguished class entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations of Goldsboro.
The family is receiving friends at the home of his sister, 1210 E. Walnut Street, Goldsboro, NC, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
