Goldsboro - Mr. Harvey J. "Red"Ayers, 91 of 1229 Rosewood Rd, embarked on his
journey of eternal life Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, in the comfort of his
home. His life and service to God and mankind will be celebrated Saturday,
February 8, 2014, at 100 p.m. at Rocky Branch United Church of Christ, N.C.
581, Kenly, N.C. He will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. A wake is scheduled for Friday, February 7, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC. He was born in Wilson Couty, NC on August 13, 1922 to Thomas and Callie Ayers. He leaves behind his wife, Minnie R. Ayers of the home; two sons,
James Harvey (Lavolia) of Wilson, N.C., and Thomas (Martrena) of
Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Callie Ayers; grandson, Vernon Turner of the
home; sister, Vivian Braswell of Syracuse, N.Y.; seven grandchildren;
and 11 great-grandchildren. Professional, sympathetic, dignified, compassionate care and service entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.A wake is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rhodes Funeral Home, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive. Donations may be sent to Southeastern Medical Oncology Center in Goldsboro, N.C.
