Goldsboro - Ms. Hazel Mae Johnson Peacock, 93 of 906 4th Street, passed on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC. The celebration of her life will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 12:00 noon at White Oak Grove FWB Church, 2261 Big Daddy's Road, Pikeville, NC. She will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery, Hwy 117 Bypass, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a visitation held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm with the family arriving to receive friends from 6:00pm until 7:00pm in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations.
She was born on October 9, 1923 in Wayne County, NC to Luther E. and Bessie Taylor Johnson. She is survived by her eight children: Annie Margaret Holt (Carlton), Ervin Lee Peacock Sr (late Mary Frances), Linwood Earl Peacock (Tanyua), Alice Pearl Sims (Daniel), Doreatha P. Wynn (Anthony), Rudolph Peacock (Shirley), Lafayette Peacock (Evelyn) and Lorenzo Peacock; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one sister, Christine Moore.
