Mr. Howard Dancie Peterson's Obituary

Howard Dancie “Fuzzy” Peterson Jr., age 68, lovingly known by his family members and friends as “Fuzzy” of 405 S. Andrews Ave entered his eternal resting place March 7, 2019 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro, NC.
The celebration of his life will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Wave of Glory Faith Ministries, 915 McDaniels Street, Goldsboro, NC with Apostle Daniel Uzzell officiating. There will be a viewing held on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 11:00am to 11:50am at the chuch. He will be laid to at 2:00pm rest at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, NC with military honors.
Howard Dancie “Fuzzy” Peterson Jr. was born on August 24, 1950 in Goldsboro, NC to the late Mattie L. Holmes Peterson and Howard Dancie Peterson, Sr. He is survived by his wife Mary Lee Artis of the home, children and step-children, Makesha P. Williams and Fallon M. Williams (both of Goldsboro), Celestine Davis (Goldsboro), William Artis (Raleigh, NC) Consuelo Edwards (Upper Marlboro, Maryland) and Sharon Smith (Homestead, Florida), 3 sisters, Elnora “Pug” Artis,, Joeanne Royal of Virginia, Ann Peterson of Georgia, a brother, Vernon L. Thompson, a dear aunt, Bertha Holmes, a dear brother-in-law,Jesse L. Artis Sr., Carl Artis and Alton Artis, 2 sister-in-laws, Judy Artis and Edna Whitfield, one God daughter, 7 grandchildren, one great grand, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and a special friend, Addie Redman ( New York).
“Fuzzy” as he was affectionately known, graduated from Dillard High School in 1968. Upon graduation he attended Wayne Community College in 1973 and received certifications as a welder and a nurse’s aid. He served his country as a Sergeant in 2 branches of the military - U. S. Air Force and Army National Guard. He was a member of the Masonic Lodges of New York and Goldsboro. He was most well-known for his “God-Given” talent of playing the organ and piano and singing. No one could usher in the Spirit of the Lord like “King Fuzzy”. He played for several churches and singing groups throughout his life. He even recorded his rendition of “Lord I Just Want To Thank You!” Lord, we thank you for our loved one and friend, Fuzzy.

The family is receiving friends at the home of his sister, 1707 N. William Street, Goldsboro, NC, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
