Mr. Ira Lee Hamm's Obituary
Goldsboro - Mr. Ira Lee Hamm, 92 of 606 11th Street, passed on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Goldsboro, NC surrounded by family. The celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 2:00pm at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, 4460 US 13, Goldsboro, NC with Reverend Jimmy Mumford. He will be laid to rest at the New Spruill Cemetery, Pikeville, NC. There will be a visitation held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Bible Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 1807 S. Slocumb Street, Goldsboro, NC at 6:00pm until 7:00pm.
He was on April 30, 1922 to Lawrence Freeman Hamm and Georgianna Spruill Hamm. He is survived by his sons, Curtis Hamm (Eleanor) of Milford, Del., and Garry Hamm of Georgia; daughter, Portia (Toni) Hamm of Goldsboro; granddaughters, Sterling Hamm-Jones, Aleacia Hamm-Jones, Antonia H. Swain (Julien), Vonda Hamm and Nikki Hamm all of Goldsboro; grandsons, Curtis Hamm Jr. (Sara) of Milford, Del., and Gary Octavious Deans of Goldsboro; brother; Jerald Hamm (Mary) of Willingham, N.J.; sisters, Carolyn H. Jones (pastor Andrew Jones) and Shirley H. Butler (pastor W.A.) of Goldsboro, N.C.; and other relatives.
Professional, sympathetic, compassionate care and service entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremation. The family will be receiving friends at the home of his daughter, Portia, 609 11th St.
