Dudley Wayne County Commissioner, Jasper "J.D." Evans, 71 of 2335 Old Mt. Olive Hwy, passed on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 12:00pm at Southern Wayne High School Gymnasium, 124 Walter Fulcher Rd, Dudley, NC. Interment will be in the Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 US Hwy 117 S, Dudley, NC. He will lie in state from 11:00am until 4:00pm in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel of J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations on Friday, December 21, 2012. A wake will follow on Friday, December 21, 2012 at First Congregational Church, 215 Sleepy Creek Rd, Dudley, NC from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Mr. Evans was born in Granville County, NC to the late John Henry and Bessie Pettiford Evans on July 4, 1941. A professional, sympathetic, dignified and compassionate service entrusted to J.B.
