Jerry ( known to me as Smiley) was a sweet gentle soul that showed loved most everyone he met. I work in the Clerks Office & have for 24 years. I met Jerry shortly after my employment. Not because he was in trouble . Just say he would hang out around the downtown area a lot. He was always so friendly and spoke of a lady that he stayed with some named Ms Mary. Jerry would always make me smile even on days I felt I didn’t have a lot to smile about. Several years ago after he was placed in nursing home facility , I was sad to not hear him say “Good Morning Ms Julie, or How you doing?” I knew he needed to come from the streets and have a better environment. I was able to visit Smiley a few times and Loved him dearly. Like all of us , Smiley made some bad decisions, and I can’t speak for anyone else, but for me he was special and he was somebody that i knew loved me unconditionally. To his family, I know you don't know me but I loved Jerry “To me smiley” and I want you to know he made a difference in My life for many years.
