I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of Mrs. Atkinson! I can hear her now in the halls of Eastern Wayne Middle. A pleasure to have been taught by her. Sending my prayers to the family, friends, and loved ones!
Mrs.Atkinson was my English teacher at Eastern Wayne Jr. High in 1971. She was just a pleasure to be around and a lot of the students loved just being around her. Some people demand respect, but Ms. Atkinson didn't have to demand anything, just her presence put that in to play.One of the sweetest ladies on earth.
Will always remember her warm friendly smile.
Ren Burford and Ellen Houpe Burford lit a candle in Cousin Joan's memory. She will truly be missed. 😢
I rememeber in class, she would call us all “Beloved”!
Also, when a fire truck or ambulance would drive by with sirens in, she would stop and pray! ♥️
