Mt. Olive - Reverend Kermit Lee Kornegay, 57, passed on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Vidant Duplin Hospital, Kenansville, NC. The celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 1:00pm at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 3414 Summerlins Crossroads Road, Mt. Olive, NC. He will be laid to rest at Wynn Memorial Gardens, E. James Street, Mt. Olive, NC. There will be a visitation held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 3:00pm until 6:00pm in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
He was born in Wayne County, NC to Ervin Kornegay and Edith Lofton Kornegay. He is survived by four sons: Kermit Devon Kornegay (Brittany) of Hiddenite, NC, Keith Pearsall of Mt. Olive, NC, Avery Strong (Kelly-fiance) of Hickory, NC and Alonzo Davis of Mt. Olive, NC.
