Georgia - Mrs. LaShena Demelle Smith, 47, formerly of Goldsboro, passed on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Heritage Hospice Center in Marietta, GA. The celebration of her life will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11:00am at Goldsboro Chapel FWB Church, 1314 Ben Brewington Ct. Goldsboro, NC. She will be laid to rest at the Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 US Hwy 117 South, Dudley, NC. There will be a viewing held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC.
She was born on June 18, 1971 in Wayne County, NC to Valoria "Val" Sheffield Vinson and Horace Daniel Thompson. She leaves to celebrate her life and memories, her loving husband, Herman Jerel Smith and her SONshine Jerel Jeremiah Smith of Stone Mountain, GA; her mother, Valoria Sheffield Vinson (Paul Vinson Jr. deceased) of Raleigh, NC; her father, Horace Thompson (Patricia) of Goldsboro, NC; her maternal grandmother, Mary Sheffield of Goldsboro, NC; four sisters: Artese LaShon Sheffield (Corey) of Raleigh, NC, Paulesha KaShonda Sheffield (Travis) of Raleigh, NC, Qwantego Thompson of Newport News, VA and Tonya Eaves (sister/cousin) of Atlanta, GA; two brothers: Tony McCoy (Datiana) of Netcong, NJ and Marshaun Thompson of Bremerton, WA; godmother, Antoinette Rodgers of Goldsboro, NC and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
