Goldsboro Ms. Lena Hooks, 93 of 402 Pear Street, passed on Monday, July 1, 2013 at Haymount Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Fayetteville, NC. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Western Assembly Disciples of Christ, 9766 US Hwy 701, Newton Grove, NC, with Pastor O’Neal Simmons officiating. She will be laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a viewing held on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm, with the family present from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations. She was born on March 22, 1920 in Sampson County to Ras and Nellie Vann Cromartie. She is survived by her children.
