Goldsboro - Ms. Lessie Angeline Cox, 78 of 221 Bunche Drive. passed on Friday, October5, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC. The celebration of her life will be held Friday, October 12, 2018, at 12;00 noon at Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 1314 Ben Brewington Court, Goldsboro, N.C., with Elder James E. Collins officiating. She will be laid to rest at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 U.S. 117 South, Dudley, N.C. There will be a viewing held Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, from 11 a.m. to noon at Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 1314 Ben Brewington Court, Goldsboro, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Cox; her parents, Leslie and Thelma Rowe; siblings, John “Les Jr.” Rowe and Annie “Sister” Woodom; and brother-in-law, John Cox Jr.
She was born on June 12, 1940 in Wayne County, NC to Leslie and Thelma Stark Rowe. She is survived by her daughters, Monik (Rorrie) Lee and Gigi Cox; her sisters: Nettie “Ree” Rowe and Thelmae (Mac) McLaurin; and her brother, Lestonio “Tony” Rowe.
