LaGrange - Miss Makayla Rakeema Howell, 9, passed on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at home. The celebration of her precious life will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11:00am at Greenleaf Christian Church DOC, 2110 N. William Street, Goldsboro, NC. She will be laid to rest at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 US Hwy 117 South, Dudley, NC. There will be a viewing held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with the family arriving to receive friends from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations of Goldsboro.
Makayla was born on January 23, 2009 in Goldsboro, NC to Mandisa Thompson and Rakeem Howell. She is survived by her mother & stepfather, Donte' Sumlin of the home and her father; grandmother, Brenda Thompson & Rosemary Stevenson of Goldsboro; grandfather, Gary Howell of Goldsboro and host of other family and friends. She was a student at Tommy's Road Elementary School, Goldsboro, NC.
The family is receiving friends at the home of her grandmother, Brenda S. Thompson, 1209 S. Best Street, Goldsboro, NC, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
