Mr. Malcolm Jay Atkinson's Obituary
Goldsboro - Mr. Malcolm Jay "Malaco" Atkinson, 27 of 1109 N. James Street, passed unexpectedly on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at home. The celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 12:00 noon at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church, 206 Pearson Street, Goldsboro, NC with Pastor Malcolm Lewis officiating. He will be laid to rest at Old Mill Cemetery, 3718 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a visitation held on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm with the family arriving from 6:00pm until 7:00pm to receive and greet friends, followed by a wake in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
He was born on July 9, 1988 in Johnston County, NC to Janice Atkinson and Reginald Brewington. He is survived by his mother, Janice Atkinson Hilliard of the home; three brothers: Sir-Taurus Hilliard, Lonnie Atkinson and Alondo Brewington all of Goldsboro, NC; one sister,
Kenya Brewington Jackson of Georgia; his devoted grandparents, Emmeul and Lois Atkinson Lewis of Goldsboro, NC; his uncle, Emmeul Lewis,Jr. of Goldsboro, NC; his aunt, LaVerne Simmons (Wesley) of Charlotte, NC; great aunts: Shirley Moore, Annie Mildred Ward, Rachel Berry and Joyce Bragg; great uncle, Luby Atkinson (Belinda); one great, great aunt, Ada Cox Herron; seven nieces and nephews: Sir-Tauria Hilliard, Amoni Monet Atkinson, Jiah’on Amon Atkinson, Jiah’Mere Deh’shon Hines, Malik Kinnemore, Miles Davis and Jalin Davis.
