Goldsboro - Deacon Marcellus "Pat" Johnson, 85, completed his final earthly mission on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. The celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 12:00pm at Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 1314 Ben Brewington Court, Goldsboro, NC. He will be laid to rest at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, NC at 2:00pm. There will be a chapel viewing held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC.
He was born on September 5, 1937 in Wayne County, NC to Buddy Johnson and Mary Ann Moses Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Venella Pearl Buckhram Johnson; his sons; siblings; grandchildren and other loving relatives and friends.
