Bivens, 62 of Danville, formerly of Goldsboro, passed away on Wednesday June 27, 2012 at her home after a short illness. Funeral service will be held in the J. B. Rhodes, Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations for Marjorie Bishop Bivens at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Interment will follow at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Goldsboro, North Carolina. Friends are welcome at the home of Maurice Bishop, located at 1509 Edgerton Street, Goldsboro. She was born in Goldsboro on September, 28 1949. She was the eldest of nine children born to the late Annie Ruth McDuffie Bishop. Marjorie leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Yolanda Bivens Wooten of Norfolk Virginia; four granddaughters, Rashema Bivens of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Alexis Jackson of Richmond Virginia, La'Quanda Caldwell and Jimmeia Horton-Roberts(Donnell) of Norfolk, Virginia; Nine great grandchildren, Ricoria and Imontis Bivens, Jameon and Jaelin Croom, Golden Gregory, C'aira Grantham, Kassidy Caldwell-Lowe, Jaiden and Deija Horton-Roberts all of Virginia; Five brothers, Maurice T. Bishop and Dwight Bishop (Linda) of Goldsboro North Carolina, Pastor Daniel Bishop (Lisa) of New Jersey, Pastor Joseph Bishop(Alhoma) and Levin "Ned" Bishop (Sharon) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Three sisters, Charmane Bishop of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Annie Leah Bishop Baldwin (Louis) of New Jersey, and Nina Bishop Bryant of Burlington North Carolina; One uncle, Robert McDuffie (Madalynn) of Florida; One aunt, Nina Mae Durham of New York; and a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and friends.
