Kinston - Elder Martha Jones Taylor, 91 passed on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Harmony Hall Nursing Rehab Center, Center, NC. The celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at Jones' Tabernacle Church, 3550 Poole Road, Kinston, NC. She will be laid to rest at the Pinelawn Memorial Park, 4488 Hwy 70 West, Kinston, NC. There will be a visitation held on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the Loftin Memorial-J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home, 106 N. East Street, Kinston, NC.
She was born on January 23, 1927 in Kinston, NC to Willie and Flora Wellington Jones Sr. She is survived by twelve children: Evelyn Donaldson(George), Samuel Taylor, Sarah Pugh (James), Sula Williams (Willie), David Taylor (Arleen), Edna Hooks (Freddie Moore), Geraldine Hamiddouch (Hassane), Loretta Taylor all of Kinston, NC, Martha Battle (David) of Bronx, NY, Patricia Frazier (Larry) of Orlando, Fl, Evangeline Houston (Cedric Sr.) of Raleigh, NC and Betty Taylor-Wallace (Albert) of Daly City, Ca.; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Taylor of Kinston NC; 26 Grandchildren, 35 Great grandchildren and 17 Great Great grandchildren; six brothers: Donell Jones (Bronx, N.Y.), James Jones (Elizabeth, NJ), Dr. William Jones Sr. (LaGrange, NC), Herman Kelly (Snow Hill, NC), Jessie Kelly (Roselle, NJ) and Cecil Kelly (Dudley, NC); three sisters: Thelma Johnson (Richmond, Va), Laura Cotton (Kinston, NC) and Mary E. Davis (East Orange, NJ) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
