The funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2013 beginning at 2 p.m. at Moye’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 7355 US Hwy 264 Alt., Farmville, NC with Reverend George Mark Dupree officiating. There will be a viewing from 2:00pm until 3:00pm at the church on Sunday, April 14, 2013. The burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Shackleford was born on July 1, 1945 in Greene County, NC to Geneva Murphy Shackleford and Lester Shackleford Sr. On October 18, 1966 he married his high school sweetheart Sheila Moye. Marvin enjoyed spending time with his family, socializing, and watching movies. After serving in the military, he worked as a police officer for the Farmville Police Department (NC), before transferring to the Goldsboro Police Department. Marvin is survived by his wife Sheila Moye Shackleford of 46 years, 2 daughters Levonde Shackleford Jones of Raleigh, NC and Chandra Ray Shackleford of Charlotte, NC; 2 sons Marvin Earl Shackleford, Jr. and his wife Angela of Durham, NC and Corie Devon Shackleford and his wife Trishonda of Charlotte, NC; 1 grandson Xavier Pearlie Denzel Jones; and 1 granddaughter Sadairrea Moye Shackleford; 1 brother Leonard Leroy Shackleford, Sr. of Greenville, NC; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
