I was shocked to hear of the passing of my dear Aunt Mary. Our family had been trying to contact her for some while, with no luck.. She and my mom, Glady Hodges worked together at Children's Hospital. It was through that friendship that she was introduced to my Uncle Thomas Hodges. Rest on Aunt Mary, take your rest. Mary affectionately known as Ms Mary by myself and all 3 of my children and my late husband. She was a joy in my life since I started working on 3 Green at Children’s Hospital in 1982. She helped me to learn how to be excellent in the care I gave to patients and their families. She showed me how to be a professional as a nurse even when others around me may have not always showed the same. She was able to see the birth of all my children and the graduation of my youngest daughter when she graduated from a school in NC , we were able to stop by and see her. My own mother had to meet her to see who this woman was that had such an impact on my life. My last conversation with her brought me joy. Ms Mary I will miss you

My dear friend Mary has been a part of my life since 1978. I met her in the ICU at Children’s Hospital in DC. She was the ultimate professional nurse who cared for children and families for more than 25 years. To this day many of those she cared for reach out to say thank you. I will miss you Mary.
Aunt Mary was the strong arm of the family. I'm really gonna miss her. She gave me history of the family I never knew.
