Goldsboro – Ms. Mattie “Matt” Jones, 89, formerly of Mount Olive, NC passed on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Brookdale Assisted Living Country Day Road, Goldsboro, NC. The family will celebrate her life on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 1:00 pm graveside at Carver Cemetery, S. Breazeale Avenue, Mount Olive, NC. There will be a public viewing held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC. Due to COVID19 precautions, there will be no in-house family gatherings or repast.
She was born on November 24, 1930 in Wayne County, NC to the late James and Ada Miller Jones. She is survived by her sister, Nancy Jones, her sister-in-law, Louise Jones, and a host of other relatives and friends.
