Clayton - Mr. Melvin Barfield Sr., 75, passed on Wednesday, SECU Hospice House-Johnston, Smithfield, NC. The celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 12:00 noon at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a viewing held from 11:00am to 11:50am at the funeral home. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, a ticket will be required, which will be issued by the family. He will be laid to rest at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Goldsboro, NC at a later date.
He was born on June 24, 1944 in Greene County, NC to Albert Lee and and Ruby Hagans Barfield.
