Kinston - Mr. Melvin Lawrence Hawkins, 65 of 705 Field Street, passed on Monday, December 21, 2015 at home. The celebration of his life will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 12:00 noon in the Nannie D. Loftin Memorial Chapel at Loftin Memorial-J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home, 106 N. East Street, Kinston, NC. He will be laid to rest at the Southview Cemetery, Old Asphalt Road, Kinston, NC. There will be viewing held on Monday, December 28, 2015 in the chapel from 11:00am to 12:00pm.
He was born in Lenoir County, NC on January 23, 1950 to Cicero Hawkins and Eunice Foye Hawkins. He is survived by his mother.
