Faison - Mrs. Minnie Ruth Elliott, 67 of 154 PW Moore Road, passed on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Wayne UNC Health Care, Goldsboro, NC. The celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 11:00am at the Evangelical Fellowship Center, 120 SW Center Street, Mt. Olive, NC with Dr. Curtis Lee officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Cobb Cemetery, Faison, NC. There will be a viewing held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Evangelical Fellowship Center, Mt. Olive, NC.
She was born on September 20, 1951 in Duplin County, NC to Edward and Annie Ruth Owens Kornegay. Minnie leaves memories in the hearts of her husband, James “Bud” Elliott, of the home, her son Marcus Kornegay (Leticia) of Faison, NC, and two daughters; India Jones (Chris) and Jammie Smith (Cory), of Dallas TX; her grandchildren: Marcus Kornegay (Elizabeth), of Rocky Mount, NC, James and Cedrick Kornegay, of Faison NC, Anthony Kornegay, Londyn Boone, and Cory Smith, of Dallas TX, and two great-grandchildren; Anna and Lillian Kornegay. She leaves two brothers: Edward and James- Earl (Eva) Kornegay of Mt. Olive, NC, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
