Loftin, 108 N. East Street, died Monday morning, October 22, 2012 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. She was the proprietor and operator of Loftin Funeral Home of Kinston, NC for over 40 years. A triumphant celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 2:00pm from St. John FWB Church, 405 East Blount Street, Kinston, NC with Bishop W.J. Best, Sr. officiating. Ms. Loftin will then be taken to her final earthly resting place in the Southview Cemetery on Old Asphalt Road in Kinston, NC. A viewing will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC. She was born in Lenoir County, NC, the daughter of the late Vander and Mamie Brown Davis. Ms. Loftin was educated in and retired from the Lenoir County School System after more than 30 dedicated years of service. She earned her college degree from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC, where she graduated at the age of 19 years old. She was a member of St. John FWB Church in Kinston, NC, where she also served as the church secretary and church officer. Ms. Loftin was preceded in death by her husband, the late Mr. Johnny F. Loftin. She was loved by many, known all over eastern NC and will truly be missed by many loving relatives and friends. The professional, sympathetic and dignified services for Ms. Loftin are entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC.
