Mrs. Patricia Evonne Frazier's Obituary
Goldsboro- It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Patricia Evonne Frazier, age 74 went to glory land on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Wayne UNC Health in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Please keep the family lifted in your prayers during their time of bereavement. Patricia Evonne (Smith) Frazier was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, aunt and friend. A joyful follower of Jesus Christ, she went home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2025. Though her departure leaves a tender ache in the hearts of all who loved her, we rejoice in knowing she is now at perfect peace, embraced by the glorious presence of the Lord she faithfully served.
Born on February 15, 1951, in Mercer County, West Virginia, Patricia grew up playing on the rolling hills of her beloved home state, a place that shaped her adventurous spirit and joyful heart. In 1955, she moved with her parents and siblings to New Jersey, where she continued to blossom. Patricia attended Madison Avenue School and graduated from West Side High School in 1969, where she discovered her talent for banking, business and clerical work. These skills became the foundation of a long and successful career—first as a bank clerk, then as an executive assistant at the American Institute of Banking. Eventually, Patricia’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to complete her CDA license at Montclair State University and opened Christian Choice Family Daycare, where she poured her love, creativity, and dedication into every child under her care. She lived and led her business based on her favorite scripture Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Patricia met the love of her life, Garland Frazier, at the Garden State Bowling Alley in the spring of 1974. Garland was immediately captivated by her radiant smile, quick wit, and effortless grace. Their connection was instant, and it only grew stronger with time. They were united in marriage on August 27, 1977, beginning a lifelong partnership built on faith, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
From Garland’s previous marriage he brought into the union his daughter, Sheronda Glover, whom Patricia lovingly welcomed as her own. From their union came two additional blessings, their son Shawn and their daughter Pamela—the children who became the heart of their home and the joy of Patricia’s life.
Patricia lived a gracefully bold life filled with purpose, and a steadfast faith that guided her every step. She embodied kindness, compassion, and quiet strength. She was always ready with an encouraging word, a warm smile, or a prayer for anyone in need. Her life was a reflection of God’s love, and she touched countless lives through her generosity, wisdom, and unwavering belief in His promises. One of her favorite pastimes was traveling and spending time with family. She loved talking about hair, fashion, nails or cooking. The family wishes to acknowledge niece Deborah, and great nieces Khaleelah, Dashea, Brittany and Baiylee whose steadfast care, check ins and kindness were a true ministry of love to Aunt Pat.
Patricia found joy in spending countless hours serving alongside her family, being a Sunday school teacher, choir member and president of the Deaconess Board at Paradise Baptist Church where she was a member for over 50 years. She later transitioned to Impact Church World Wide where she cohosted small groups and offered comforting prayer calls and encouragement to others.
She leaves behind her husband of 48 years Garland Frazier, her number 1 son, Shawn Frazier (Melissa, Connor and Landon), Pamela Frazier and Sheronda Glover (Terrell Glover (predeceeded), Avery and Amaya) who will forever cherish her love she poured so freely into their lives. One remaining sibling, her oldest brother David Smith, Jr. (Barbara) and brother in law, Edward Roberts. She adored all her nieces and nephews; oldest nephew William Curtis Hardie, III (Michelle) and nephew Keith Roberts (Denise), Dwayne Smith, niece Deborah Barnes (Carlton). She was preceded in death by her mother Augusta Smith, father David Smith Sr., aunt Elaine Hogan, sisters Betty Roberts and Elfreida Hardie and niece Robin Montoute. She leaves to cherish a host of great nieces/nephews, family, friends and bonus children.
Though she is no longer with us physically, her legacy of faith continues to inspire and uplift those she leaves behind.
Patricia has finished her earthly race with grace, and devotion. We rejoice in the assurance that she is now in her eternal home—whole, healed, and embraced by the everlasting love of God. Her legacy of love will last forever.
