Reco Yudane Rowe was born December 8, 1967, to John Leslie Rowe and Sallie Marie Jacobs Rowe. Named with love by his grandmother and father, Reco grew into an independent, determined , and gifted young man.
Reco developed a strong work ethic early, delivering newspapers, driving a school bus, singing in the choir, playing the trumpet, and actively participating in New Greenleaf Church of Christ. Basketball was his passion, and he excelled at Goldsboro High School. Reco was a Goldsboro High School Class of 1986 graduate. Reco continued his athletic and academic journey at Washington State University in Pullman, WA.
Reco earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 1991 and dedicated 31 years to the Washington State Department of Corrections, a career he truly loved.
Reco's life was marked by resilience, faith, discipline, and heart. His legacy continues through the many lives he touched while serving as a high school assistant basketball coach at Todd Beamer High School, Federal Way , WA and Garfield High School in Seattle, WA. , a leader in "Game of Life" basketball mentorship program. Neither Reco nor his friend/brother Winston Bell would accept a coaching opportunity unless they could come as a team. Reco played league basketball across the state of Washington.
